Watch the birdie….vintage bird bunting.
“Pretty swallow, once again come and pass me in the rain.
Pretty swallow, why so shy?
Pass again my window by” Extract from The Swallow, a poem by John Clare.
We all know how beneficial nature is to our wellbeing. However, it is not always possible to immerse ourselves on a daily basis- sometimes logistics & life itself just gets in the way.
Whether you garden on a city centre windowsill, a townhouse courtyard or have acres and acres of rolling hills at your disposal, a string of vintage bird bunting is just the ticket to connect with the outside world.
You can imagine how thrilled I was to come an old hatbox with these tiny vintage swallow birds inside. What a find! I couldn’t help but string them up into bird bunting to hang across my windows.
Beautifully detailed, little Bakelite moulded birds dating from the 1950’s. A perfect gift for Ornithologists or anyone with a love of birds & nature.
Hang your bird bunting across windows, shelves & mantles or from the branches of twigs. A gentle breeze will set them fluttering which is utterly joyous. It’s like a tinkling aviary right inside your own home – delightful!
If you like me, you love to bring nature into your home, then you might also like a very useful stoneware pot. Just perfect for a sprig or two. https://lottiegirling.co.uk/product/brown-stoneware-pot/
The Small Print:
Each vintage bird bunting measures approximately 1.5 metres in length. The birds themselves are approximately 6cm x 6cm.
Price is for 1 ready strung length of bird bunting which contains 7 vintage swallow birds, I have used natural twine & vintage crochet thread so that the birds really do seem to be fluttering of their own free will.
Your beautiful birdie bunting will be wrapped in brown paper & tied with string- ready if you are planning to give as a gift.
Due to the delicate nature of the materials used, these are not recommended for outdoor use.
Please keep away from small children.
