When my vintage day bed is piled high with cushions & the garden pond is so soothing.

And I’m so sleepy after my 4.30am start for a buying trip (can’t wait to share the newness with you).

I’m ignoring this great pile that needs my attention (there are piles like this ALL over the house & garden & even the car).

And curling up with a good book instead because it’s one of my favourite ways to recharge my batteries.

It’s a little garden themed window this week…

I don’t know about you but I have officially decamped to the garden (between downpours that is).

Once May arrives, I have little patience with being inside & drag out cushions, pillows & throws as life moves al fresco & I’m determined to make the most of things.

Each year plans are made to tackle certain parts of the garden, very often the same plans are dragged out too as time got the better of us the previous year~ but no matter.

This little cart could be the answer~ fill it with flowers & simply wheel it in front of whatever you don’t want to see or that hasn’t been tackled yet??

I think it’s called lazy gardening but it would mean more time to curl up in a favourite spot with a good book & a glass of wine ~ my type of gardening!

I hope you have an outdoor space to enjoy & please tell me I’m not the only one with a million unfinished projects on the go?

It feels like I have been moving the shop around all day, I hope you like it?

It’s wonderful to be back ‘home’ after taking LG out on the road this week ~ thank you if you visited my stand at West Green House yesterday ~ wasn’t it the most beautiful day!

It’s a cricket themed window this week… Such fun

It’s a cricket themed window this week…

Such fun having a new crowd in the shop who have been drawn in by the cricket prints.

People have been sharing knowledge about all the different landmarks in the paintings which has been really interesting.

Sadly my teens no longer play, so my days of sitting in a deck chair watching are over~ I never understood what was going on, but I loved the vibe~ especially when a g&t was in hand!

Printed onto canvas & labelled 108/500 the limited edition framed prints are £125 each (excludes postage)

I’ve always loved the pretty house beyond the pond, I wonder who lives there.

I often take s little detour this way when I need to drop parcels off at the post office.

Drink more milk…..

Or if like me you can’t stomach the stuff~ fill your churns with plants & fill your garden with churns!

I love a churn~ I mentioned in one of my stories this morning that I just love agricultural salvage.

Imagine one of these with ivy cascading down the side or heirloom tulips popping out of the top.

It’s that juxtaposition between something cold, hard & industrial softened with pretty planting that I adore.

Btw~ people are often unsure about churns & chimney pots~ the secret is to fill them 2/3rds with anything (old plant pots, rubble - the heavier the better if you want to deter gits).
Then sink a pot into the top & use the remaining 1/3rd as normal.

I was hoping to have these loaded onto the website in time for the weekend but I’m afraid life got the better of me, so please get in touch if you’d like any details.

Hello from a cloudy but trying Midhurst.

This week I am trialing some new opening hours at the shop~ just trying to juggle life’s many balls & still open as often as I can.

It feels odd starting my shop week on a Wednesday, I can guarantee I won’t know which way is up by Friday!

What’s your lucky number?

I bought this beautifully hand painted set of wooden balls a little while ago.

I had no idea what the game was called, but I thought they were just too pretty to leave behind.

Some lovely customers have just informed me that they are historic gambling balls, known as ‘Teetotum Gambling’ balls- who knew!

Can you shed any more light? How on earth do you use them?

Customers were out & everyone was in fine fettle.

I really enjoyed pulling together my Easter window, adding new stock & generally getting everything ship-shape for the weekend.
