Pretty vintage needlepoint floral…

A beautifully hand worked tapestry floral, this piece is incredibly pretty & adds warmth, texture as well as faded heirloom grandeur.

Obviously the front is divine, with its carefully embroidered flowers in pastel shades of pink & blues, but the inscription on the reverse is utterly charming.

Begun in 1926 & worked until 1991 by the same family & reads as follows:

The (blank) Family Heirloom

This tapestry picture was embroidered with loving care by Chenay (blank)

To be passed down through the (blank) family until such time as the current guardian wished to bin it!!

But he must be prepared to answer for his action to Chenay on the day of judgement!!

The work measures approximately 56cm high x 46cm wide.
